Forever 21 Sports Bra

Check me out doing another 'fashion' post?!  Anyway, I bought these two 'sports' bras from Forever 21 on the recommendation of my friend who said they were really comfy.  I've somehow misplaced my old sports bra so the next time I was in I decided to pick up a couple.  They come in such great colours, and some have a lace trim (see nude one).  They are an absolute bargain at £3.90!

I've found there are a couple of ways to wear them, the first is just as a normal bra. It's got some slight padding and is not underwired so it is really comfy!  As you would imagine it doesn't give a huge amount of support, but for days when you're just lazing about but still want a bra of some sort this is perfect.  I also wore it to yoga and it was fine.

The next way is using it as extra support when doing gentle.  I wear it on top of my normal bra if I'm going to an exercise class like Boxercise which involves more running or jumping about!  It just gives that little bit extra support I need but it's not as effective as the other ones which are made specifically for that purpose - F21 do actually do some more expensive ones but for the exercise I do I find this is enough.  You can then put a top over it or just wear it as a crop top.

The downside is that they only come in one size which is a bit ridiculous, come on Forever 21, as if all woman are the same size?!  As reference I am 30D bra size and dress size 8 but I think even if you're more of a 12 you could try this as they do stretch, but again, it really depends on your boobs so worth trying on first.  I've managed to get them over some of my really padded bras haha!

  1. Do they really call them sports bras? It's more of a leisure/sleeping/yoga bras. I guess it could work for A cup boobs for mild level exercise, but anything bigger would need a hell lots more support even for fast walking ;)

    And one size... LOL

    1. Right? The sport bras I used back as a student athlete were more practical. Maybe this is a new evolution of sport bras or something, made for aesthetic purposes as opposed to actual sports wear? I'd worry about the thin strings breaking as I ran, dove and moved around the field. :/

However, they look extremely comfy and pretty, perfect (as mentioned in the post) for simple yoga!

    2. Yeah they do! As I said they have more specialised ones and these are more in with the lingerie rather than sporting section. I actually have D cup boobs lol I might add that into the post as a reference!

Joana, yeah they wouldn't be great for heavy exercising like that haha! I find with a normal supportive bra underneath I can run, skip, do star jumps etc much more comfortably!

  2. Only comes in one size, I wouldnt even get a leg in there! Women have different cup sizes as well so they cant really market this as a sports bra.

The price is great and I think the way your wearing it is fine, i.e. on top of another bra when exercising. I don't think you would get much support from it, but then again I could be wrong.

    1. I know! They are surprisingly stretchy though they start of fairly small but I am a 30D and can fit it over even the most padded of bras haha! Alone, it is definitely not a sports bra but even with my previous one I always wore a bra underneath, I felt weird if I didn't!

    1. Isn't it!! They only come in one size which is quite small also stretchy haha so you might be okay! Yes I think this is them here, there's a few other styles if you go back a section. They're referred to as layering bras, probably more appropriate than sports bra!

  6. My sports bra that I wear to netball is from F21 and I really like it. But it isn't either of the ones you have.

  7. Seems to be such a comfortable and fashionable bras. Superb quality sports bra are available online and getting them sitting at one's comfort zone is satisfactory. Ordered another piece of clothing styles for gym as well. All were praised by my roommate and friends. Even recommended the same store to all of them.
