Benefit Selling In China

benefit selling in China

I am gutted to say that a couple of days ago I found out from Moadore that Benefit are selling their products in China!  I literally had no idea.

In case you weren't aware, once a company decides to sell in China, the Chinese government holds the right to test any of the products on animals - which is a ridiculous and unnecessary law!

So basically this means that Benefit can no longer be classed as 'cruelty free' and will be put on the naughty list.  It's so annoying because I combed through their statement about animal testing and it seemed to be okay to me, but sneakily there was no mention of selling in China...

I have also just bought the They're Real Anniversary Set :( boo!!

It's so sickening though, how many other companies out there are selling in China without mentioning it when questioned about animal testing?

If you are aware of any others that sell in China then please tweet me or leave a comment as I would be really interested to know.

  2. This upsets me. The only thing I buy from the naughty list is MAC lipsticks, but now Benefit are questionable, iunno if I am going to be able to buy from them anymore.

  3. I didn't think that they were cruelty free to begin with! They never had a clear animal testing policy. This doesn't surprise me in the least x

    1. Yes I should probably have known but although their statement was a bit long-winded I didn't really find anything which suggested they did, I guess the fact it is a long is enough lol!

    1. I think they've always been one of those companies no one knows for sure - which is usually a sign that they do, and probably makes them out to be worse :/

Definitely :) they're not worth any animals life!

  6. Oh no! I only just read this :( I look at all the make up counters & stands in Boots & department stores & it makes me sad that so little is cruelty free, makes it very hard to make the switch! I think I might purchase some Liz Earle make up next time I want to splurge!

  7. I'm sure you've heard about Urban Decay. Although they haven't moved into China YET, they are now owned my L'Oreal, which pretty much means impending doom. It's such a shame. I hate companies that can't be honest with their consumers. ~debthemakeupnoob

    1. I know :( I am boycotting them at the moment til we find out all the details! I am fine with using The Body Shop so as long as UD have the same position as them then I'll go back to using them :/
