The Buddha Beauty Company Facial Night Cream

I had been following The Buddha Beauty Company on twitter for quite a while because they are BUAV approved, but I hadn't actually tried any of their products.  A few months ago they offered to send products out for bloggers to try and I put myself forward.  I'm not sure what the others got but I was sent The Chamomile & Jasmine Facial Night Cream.  I was really pleased to receive this as the last night cream I bought (No7) burned my face a little bit...  Not the best.

I have had this since about February but obviously, as with all skincare items, I wanted to try it out for a while first to get an idea of how it works with my skin before reviewing it.

As well as being cruelty free, Buddha Beauty are also vegan and contain organic essential oils which is great!  They don't use SLS or parabens in their products, which I prefer to avoid when I can!  The night cream is £12 for 50ml and is available on a few different sites including their own here.  Unfortunately I can't seem to find the ingredients on their website so I've listed them for you below:
Aqua, Aloe barbadensis Leaf Juice, Borago officinalis Seed Oil, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Anthemis nobilis Flower Extract, Lavandula angustifolia Flower Extract, Panax ginseng Root Extract, Symphytum officinale Root Extract, Sodium PCA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Alcohol Denat, Disodium EDTA, Triethanolamine, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin, Methylisothiazolinone.
So firstly, this smells so good!  I was worried that the jasmine and camomile scent would be overwhelming but in fact it is lovely, and perfect for bedtime as it's so soothing and relaxing.  The cream itself feels nice on the skin, you don't need to use much and it doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy.  I also noticed that in the morning when I wash my face, I can't feel it sort of 'washing off' like I have done with other moisturisers - I have no idea what this means but it makes me think that it soaks in well and isn't just sitting on my face haha!

Personally I haven't noticed any big changes in my skin while using this but I have fairly normal skin with combination tendencies!  What I can say is that I have had a couple of small dry patches and they would clear up within 2 days, however I can't say definitively that the night cream alone cleared it up as I use a moisturiser in the morning, and my cleanser is hydrating too.

Overall I am really pleased I had the chance to try this, I think £12 is a great price and would definitely buy it myself.  Also I think it'll last ages as the photo above is quite recent and as you can see I've only just started to make a dent in it!  I'll be looking to The Buddha Beauty Company the next time I need some new skincare - which admittedly probably won't be for a rather long time!!  I had a snoop on their website and they also sell candles and bath bombs along side the usual skincare items.  Click here for The Buddha Beauty Company website - they have free UK delivery, yass!

Have you tried anything from Buddha Beauty?
If you have a review, feel free to leave the link below for me to read :)

Cruelty Free Online Shopping Guide

Over the past year or so I have come across a few great websites which specialise in stocking only cruelty free products.  It allows you to browse in confidence and come across new brands or ones you might not have heard of before.  I thought I would make this list to display them all in the one place, and I'll also link in the Cruelty Free Brands page above, so you know where to find it if you're looking for it again.

CutECOsmetics is probably my favourite website from the list, it's so beautifully displayed and easy to use.  I've also worked with them a couple of times and they are lovely!  You can also specify if you only want to view vegan products or organic products which is great.  Some brands they sell are Butter London, Amie, Inika, Lily Lolo, Neve Cosmetics and OCC.

The next website is Cocktail Cosmetics, personally I haven't bought anything from them but they do stock loads of brands like Yaby, Sugarpill, Lime Crime, Sigma and NYX.  I remember this website from before they had a makeover and it said that all the brands were PETA certified which I don't actually trust alone, so if you're like me or not sure about any of them then maybe just contact the brand directly first.  I'm not sure whether that is still how they work but just to let you know!

Next up is Amarya which is a natural and organic (mostly skincare) beauty site, and I tweeted them yesterday to ask about cruelty free products and they said that is their main concern and all brands are cruelty free.  I haven't bought anything from them yet but I am going to buy a Dr Hauschka deodorant today - ooooh exciting!!  They stock brands like Balance Me, Antipodes, Lavera, Weleda and Neom; and they also offer a beauty box which is pretty cool!  EDIT: Now called LoveLula.

Ruffle No Feathers is the most recent of these websites, it only launched a few weeks ago!  They only stock brands which are BUAV Approved which is fantastic - no need for double checking!  Some of the brands included are Bulldog, SpaRitual, Buddha Beauty and BM Beauty.  They also do Astonish who sell cruelty free household cleaning products like dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, various cleaning sprays...

Naturisimo is one I forgot about, and I have actually used it to buy Organic Surge shampoo and conditioner!  They are quite similar to Amarya but have some different brands, however be careful as   I know they sell Caudalie who aren't cruelty free.  Some of the brands Naturisimo stock are Pai, Bodhi, Bellepierre, Green People and Tisserand.

~

So these are the websites I know of so far, if you know of any others I should check out then let me know.  I will update this post if and when I come across others!

CutECOsmetics

I came across this website a few weeks ago on Twitter (not sure how exactly, I think someone RT or mentioned them!) and I think it's just such a great concept.

Basically they are called cutecosmetics, but with emphasis on the 'eco' in the middle which I think is so clever!  They specialise in supplying cruelty free, organic and vegan beauty products.  So they have done the hard work for you!  All the brands on the website are cruelty free, and then it is indicated if they are also organic, vegan or both.  You can choose to shop only vegan or organic products too if you want to only view items which fall into these catagories.

Some of more well known brands they carry are Butter London, Barry M, Ecotools and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, then they are also lots of other ones I haven't heard of!  I haven't actually bought anything from them yet but I am really looking forward to getting some bits to try out (not til next month though as I seem to have spent my wage already!  Whoops!) especially as it's free UK delivery!  I really grudge paying delivery even though < £3 is perfectly acceptable, I'm just a big cheapskate, so I love that it's free!

Here is a link to their website CutECOsmetics it's just adorable!  They also have a blog too, link here.
