The Lipstick Tag

I was tagged by Hayley!  I tag anyone reading this to do it, if you already have feel free to leave your link below in a comment :)

How many lipsticks do you own?
17 including stains and lip tars.

What was your first ever lipstick?
The first lipstick I can remember was a 17 one I got for Christmas, it was a sort of browny colour and I only wore it once. To school. Why, Louise?? It really wasn't pretty!

What is your most worn lipstick?
Ahh that is really difficult actually! I think Topshop Infrared, I love orange lips!

What is your favourite brand?
Probably Topshop but I only have 2 of theirs.  MUA are good too especially for the price.

What is your favourite finish?
A sort of creamy finish probably, not too matte as my lips get very dry but not too glossy.

What was the last lip product you bought?
I honestly can't even remember!  I've not bought one in ages, Topshop Inhibition maybe?

How many glosses and balms do you currently have in your handbag?
I just have one lip balm, I rarely carry make up with me!

What lipstick do you wear to rock a red lip?
Lime Crime Red Velvet, uch so pretty!  See this post for swatches!

How do you store your lipsticks?
I store them in a jewellery box on the windowsill in my bathroom.  I did a lipstick storage and collection post which you can see here.

What lip products are you constantly lusting after?
I really want to try some of Lime Crimes lipsticks, they have some great colours.

IMATS Haul!

I finally made it to IMATS!  I have been wanting to go for the past 3 years but this year we actually put the plan into action and got it all organised.  I went with my friend Louise (confusing, yes) and we flew down to Luton on Friday afternoon and stayed over in a Premier Inn on the same street as Kensington Olympia, then the next morning we headed along to IMATS!

I think I was actually quite controlled with my spending!  My budget was £60 and from adding it up below (not including the concealer) I only went over it by about a tenner which isn't too bad!

Nars Make Up Artist Palette £12.50 - OH MY GOD isn't the price insane???
Nars Eyeshadow Trio in Calanque £10 - Such pretty colours and again, BARGAIN!
OCC Concealer in Y0 £10 - My friend asked me to pick this up for her, but now I want one, dammit!
Make Up Blending Sponge £3.25 - Worth a try for that price! Just need to work out how to use it now...
Bdellium Tool 975 £10
Bdellium Tools 776 £5 - Mac 217 replacement perhaps?!
Bdellium Tools 777 £5
NYX Nude Matte Shadow in Kiss The Day (light one) £3 - I hardly have any matte shades so I picked these two neutrals up
NYX Nude Matte Shadow in Tryst (dark one) £3
NYX Eyeshadow in Toffee Shimmer £3.50
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Dark Brown £3.50 - I have Milk so I wanted a dark one to use as a base
NYX Eye Pencil in Sapphire £2.50
NYX Eye Pencil in Purple £2.50
Inglot Translucent Loose Powder in Shade 217 £7 - I've been looking for a yellow setting powder for a while now!

Valentine's Day Look

Soo unfortunately I managed to break my memory card a few nights ago - 16GB, soo gutted!!  I can't afford to buy a new one until next month so it's gonna be photos from my phone, or ones I took ages ago, for the time being I'm afraid!

Before I broke it, I did a Valentine's Day make up look for cutECOsmetics using Lime Crime and OCC products which they sell on their website (shown below).  For all the details visit cutECosmetics' blog here.  My post is the second of a series of guest posts by different bloggers using lots of their lovely cruelty free products, so I recommend that you follow them for those!

In other news, have you all heard about the ban on animal tested products in the EU from 11th March?!  It's such an achievement!  I am so looking forward to that date to see what a lot of companies do, because as far as I'm aware ones like L'Oreal will have to withdraw from China if they want to continue selling in the EU, since in China animal testing on cosmetics is mandatory.  I'm just wondering if I can go back to buying from companies I'd previously have avoided, when would it be 'safe' to do so, would I even want to??  So many questions!

What are your thoughts on the whole thing?

Collection: Lipsticks & Storage

I wasn't happy with my lipstick storage which was basically them all just shoved in a box in a drawer and not very easy to reach for!  However I got a beautiful mirrored jewellery box for my birthday but as I have loads of jewellery boxes already, I decided to use it for my lipsticks!

This is where it sits usually as I keep all my makeup in my bathroom (weird? normal?), but for ease of taking clear photos I moved it to my hall!

In the top I have my purples.  Sadly I only have 3 - plenty of room for more!!  Also because there is space, my Lipcote is in here as well.

In the middle drawer are my pinks.

And in the last drawer are my orange/reds.

So that is my lipstick collection!  Pretty small but growing, I've only recently got into lipsticks and even then I only wear them on nights out/special occasions!  I am going to do a 'most used lip products' post too as I keep those in a separate, more accessible place.

Out of these, the following are not cruelty free: Avon, Lipcote (unknown), MAC and Revlon.
